Look At London

The London Borough of Southwark was created in 1965. It stretches from London Bridge in the north, to Sydenham Hill in the south. Southwark began in Roman times near the site of the original London Bridge. It has always been at the centre of London's history, connected to The City across the River Thames.

A visit to Southwark will tell you a lot about London's history. It is also a modern borough, looking to the future. The old Bankside power station has been changed into one of the world's greatest spaces for art, the Tate Modern.

Go and see for yourself! Check out old and new at Bankside.
