Look At London

Bethnal Green, Poplar and Stepney joined together in 1965 to make the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The name Tower Hamlets was in use from at least 1554. By 1720 places such as Bromley and Hackney were a part of Tower Hamlets; being villages or hamlets to the east of the Tower of London.

Tower Hamlets is also an exciting modern place. The transformation of the old London docks on the Isle of Dogs into London's true 21st century quarter shows the modern face of this borough.
