1616 - Huguenot weavers in London are using an ingenious new loom.

This allows several lengths of ribbon, tape or lace to be woven at one time. Using it saves considerable time and effort. The goods are produced much more cheaply, so they can be sold more cheaply, too.

The English weavers are not happy, since no one wants to buy their own more expensive products.
